Scholarship Details

The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) has secured CAD 1.5 million from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada, to launch the Women and Clean Energy in West Africa (WOCEWA) initiative.

This project is focused on promoting gender equality in the private sector and enhancing women’s involvement as both consumers and suppliers of clean energy solutions.

Through the WOCEWA Scholarship and Green Jobs Program, ECREEE is committed to fostering a new generation of women leaders in the energy sector. By offering scholarships combined with guaranteed internship placements within ECOWAS energy institutions, the program addresses the underrepresentation of women in this field.
